    • Advantages:
  • Throat Depth: Minimum actual throat depth not lower than five times the nominal diameter of the chain. P>5 nominal diameter of chain. H = 5 nominal diameter of chain. The chain link inserted in the throat stays suspended, it does not rest on the bottom of the throat. (Fig 1 & Fig. 2)
  • Loading Capacity: The influence of shortening hook on the related shortened chain does not involve a decrease of more than 5% of breaking load of the related chain grade 80 or grade 100, consequently no reduction of WLL (working load limit).
  • Tip Shape: Tip shape thick enough to prevent insertion of chain link. Prevents incorrect insertion of the chain. (Fig.3 Complying - Fig. 4 Not Complying)


    • Other Features of the New Shortening Hook:
  • Presence of a chain shape groove (Fig. 5) for an optimal positioning of bearing chain link in the hook.
  • Size 7 and 8 mm using the same hook also for clevis type.
  • Satisfies all the most restrictive criterions required by various drafts of norm proposal E DIN 5691-2:2007-04 & prEN 1677-7:2005-04.
